Nace en Cuernavaca, Morelos en 1975. Estudió la Lic. en Arquitectura, Universidad La Salle, Campus Morelos, Lic. en Artes Visuales, con especialidad en Artes Plásticas por la Facultad de Bellas Artes de la Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro. Realizó diversos diplomados tales como: “Profesionalización del arte”; “Aspectos teóricos y técnicos de la pintura”; “Dibujo de figura humana”, impartidos todos por el maestro Santiago Carbonell.
Representado por nuestra galería a lo largo de 14 años, Selem ha participado en más de 50 exposiciones colectivas y varias exposiciones individuales en importantes espacios culturales de México y Estados Unidos, también ha participado en las ferias de arte contemporáneo más importantes a nivel internacional.
Este año, presentará su trabajo en el Centro cultural de México en Madrid, también participará en una muestra colectiva en una galería en NY y una muestra especial que se realizará en Toronto y Montreal.
"La pintura es mi lengua madre, mi estilo de vida y mi pasión, así ha sido desde que nos descubrimos. Mi trabajo se basa en experiencias vividas en la infancia, conectar con ese niño asustado y temeroso por su primera mudanza, temeroso y asustado no por el cambio, sino por la preocupación de que sus objetos más preciados (juguetes) sufrieran algún daño en el traslado. De ahí mi afán de envolver para preservar lo más amado, envolver con un papel que no significa nada para un niño, papel periódico, y que hoy significa algo tan solo unos instantes mientras se lee, después de esto, es solo papel para envolver."

"Painting is my mother tongue, my lifestyle and my passion, that's how it has been since we discovered each other." My work is based on experiences I had in my childhood, connecting with that scared and fearful child for his first move, fearful and frightened not because of the change, but because of the worry that their most precious objects (toys) would suffer from some damage during the transfer, hence my desire to wrap them up to preserve the most beloved ones, wrapping them up with paper that means nothing to a child, just newspaper, and today that means something, just a few moments while reading, after this, it is only wrapping paper. "
